3 DAYS TO KIBALE

Day 1: Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

You will be picked up by our Driver/Guide from your Accommodation of choice in either Entebbe or Kampala ready for your journey to Kibale Forest National Park, South West Uganda near Fort Portal town.

The 795 Square Km largely Forested Park, is best known for the number and variety of resident primates and Uganda’s largest population of Chimpanzees.

You will drive towards western Uganda through a beautiful serene green Environment not to mention the Tea Plantations. On your way, expect to spot Monkeys, Birds and Baboons during.

You will have Lunch in Fort Portal town before proceeding to your accommodation where you will have an overnight.

Day 2: Morning Chimpanzee Tracking and Afternoon Bigodi Swamp Walk

After an early breakfast at the Lodge, you will go for the long awaited amazing experience with the chimpanzees.

Kibale consists of various primate species. You will not miss out on seeing some of them like the red Columbus monkey, Grey checked mangabey, black & white Columbus, among others; and of course the human-like chimpanzees!

The search for the chimpanzees will take about 3-4hours walk through the tropical rainforest with an experienced guide. You will have an hour to see the Chimps play, feed their young ones and jump to and from Tree branches. This will be an experience to reminisce.

You will retire from the chimpanzee experience for your Lunch and thereafter do an afternoon Swamp Walk. During the swamp walk, expect to see   a variety of beautiful bird species, spot some monkeys and walk through small communities where you will meet local people who get excited about shaking hands with Visitors. You will visit some Coffee Plantations and People’s gardens to see how the Local people go about their daily life and work. You will then retire to your lodge.

Day 3: Return to Kampala/Entebbe

You will eat your Breakfast, and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight.

You may consider an optional City Tour where you will visit any of the listed places below;

  • Numerous Craft Markets where you can buy a souvenir for yourself or family.
  • Kampala Taxi Park with hundreds of Commuter Taxis jam parked in a small Park (you will be guided to climb an adjacent high building to have an aerial view of this sometimes chaotic but exciting Park).
  • Africa’s 2nd largest Mosque/Uganda’s biggest and other religious sites like the Victorian-architect Namirembe Cathedral, Rubaga Cathedral, Bahai Temple and the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo.
  • The Lubiiri King of Buganda’s Palace where you get to know the traditional norms of one of Uganda’s largest Kingdoms.

Or depending on the time of your flight, have an evening boat ride on Lake Victoria scheduled to set off at 5:30pm East African Time. This takes about 1-2hours time.

You will have Lunch in a nice Restaurant and have a Taste of Uganda’s traditional delicacy before your driver drops you back at your accommodation in either Entebbe or Kampala. You advise where you prefer to be dropped.
